Guinness vs Prey

Guinness Vs worms lots: nil
Guinness Vs mice lots: nil
Guinness Vs small birds 3: nil
Guinness Vs Pigeon 3: nil
Guinness Vs Woodpecker nil: 1

Yes...Woodpecker, Guinness gave good chase but then the clever woodpecker hid in the paper bin and Guinness was scared off it sharp beak. However it took us all night for to find it and this morning we let it out in the garden and it flew off.

I have never seen a woodpecker before and i thought it was very cool.

Clockwork Who

On Saturday we went out to a Tutu and/or Trilby party Wayne had a trilby and I had a frilly skirt as i couldn't find a tutu.
However, James decided that his Trilby made him look like the guy from the Clockwork Orange but then decided that he should where a Doctor Who type scarf therefore he was christened as the Clockwork Who -Doctor Who's evil twin (or the clockwork orange man better behaved sibling).

Garden update

Slow progress, but there are improvements.

The big question...

I watch the big question (http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b007zpll)this morning, mainly because a James was on there. (well done James, I thought you did really well)

The question they where meant to be debating was 'is the pope a liability?' However I thought the question turned rather quickly in to what is wrong with the catholic church. However moving aside from that, the whole debate annoyed me for several reasons;

1. Why were there so many people against the Church/Pope and only a few there to defend
2. Why do people not get that the Pope is head of the Church and not a political leader. They are do not work under the same rules
3. Why do people criticise the Pope (and other western christian leaders, to an extent) but they don't criticise other religious leaders for fear of offending people
4. Also people rally against the catholic faith because it is steeped in tradition and ritual and old well know beliefs, but there are several evangelical groups who follow there beliefs, many of which are more extreme than those of the catholic church.
5. Why can we criticise Christianity but not other religions

If the Church was to change its core beliefs because of the pressure's of today's society then I feel this would be bad move for faith that has survived 2000 years. Would they expect it of any other religion - I doubt it.

I got a parcel today, and these guys where inside...

Apparently they are perfectly harmless unless you get them wet...after midnight!

These are great and I also have a lot of glow in the dark pens. Now all I need to do is to finish organising the event.

garden update

We've been cracking on with clearing the garden

As you can see we found the fence, when we have cleared the junk we will dig out the board and make it a manageable size

We hope to get it finished by the end of 2009...

Egg error!

On Friday I was given an Easter egg from my boss (Yippee!)

I thought I would use the egg to make chocolate cereal cakes and take them in tomorrow as an Easter treat

So I slaved for 15 minutes in the kitchen and put the result in the fridge, and whilst i was defrosting the freezer (don't ask) i realised that of the 6 people in my office half of them have giving up chocolate for Easter. d'oh! So it would mean to take in chocolate when they can't eat it.

Looks like Wayne's work will have to eat them instead.

Garden

So after two years of living in our house we are finally got round to renovating the back garden.

We started by clearing the wood from the tree that were chopped down last year and thenpruned a few trees and discovered that we have a foot more garden then we thought we have!

We have also discovered a lot of plant pots, a lot of rocks and a lot of dead timber, 3 concrete slabs, a raccoon, a chipmunk and a ladybird.

Wayne has been to the tip 5 times in the last few days and we have still have lots to do. Here are some pictures to show you how we are getting on.
