Home made burgers are the way forward! all we needed was for it to stay light for a little longer.

Next planned BBQ is in May. I can't wait

next week we are going back to the pub and hopefully the quiz will begin again after Easter.

monday night

A late review of our Monday night social as my brain was (and is) on another planet.

Stu and Helen hosted a great night in which we had chicken, ham and leek pie with potato wedges and veg. I will apologise for peaing on the floor :) I have poor spoon control.
we then had apple crumble for dessert -yum yum yum

After playing Yahtzee we played pass the bomb, and made some funny phases from the word cards. We had one last game of pass the bomb - superman, superman 2, superman 3...

great night guys!

next week BBQ if the weather holds

pub quiz

Check this out...

It is either a little revision for the swan, any other pub quiz, or just a little bit of fun. You can challenge Tony Robinson

7 out of 10 with a 9 second average is my best so far.

Tuesday Challenge 10

Gosh, I don't like food photography
I think it means that I am not a perfectionist, or a get bored after 40 + photo including retakes.
I think the subject looks appetising just by looking at it, but not through the lens of a camera. Anyway here is the final version...

I am off to eat my picture :-)

Cheese, wine and good company ... need I say more :)

Tuesday Challenge 9 and 10

Here are the results of Tuesday challenge 9

http://blog.pygmygoat.net/1574/#more-1574

A lot of very good pictures this week, it was a tricky challenge. the village pics are a little freaky to me.

This week challenge is Food!
Food photography is difficult. Really difficult.
We don’t want a picture of your lunch. We want a picture that makes us want to eat your lunch. A picture that would appear in a menu. A picture that appeals.
If the viewers’ stomachs don’t rumble while perusing the results, we haven’t done our job properly
.

mmmm pie!

Wenged!

more criticism from my old boss...
if I didn't know better i would say I still worked for him,

Tuesday challenge 9

mmmmmmmm.... this was a very hard one this week, first you need to find a way to get 10 m above the ground then you need to find something close by that will make a good picture. so after pondering, I that would go to the top of the Carillon tower in Loughborough and take pictures of the park. However, the Carillon tower doesn't open to good Friday. So I have an inverted picture

After doing some shopping I managed to find a high vantage point and got some Saturday traffic in town shots, not what I intended submit for the challenge but I quite like the shot that I am submitting.

Bye Nav!

Nav Left out company today to go to a better place...by that I mean a better job, which pays more and is close to home.

She has been an excellent laugh and is always a cheery person, I will miss her.

Cone back and see us Nav or Stu will have to come and get you!

Badders

We decide it would be a good idea to book some badminton court with four friend yesterday, however the club was playing to the court time were staggered which wasn't a good start, but we all a chance to play each other and have a shot at playing singles.

Singles is too much hard work at at 9.30 at night !

we decided to try a game of 3V3 badminton , which was amusing for a few minutes then it became clear that there wasn't really enough room on the court. It also reminded me of volleyball.

I think badders is better as single or doubles, however these things have to be tried.

This weekend i am going to get a lighter badminton racket which should help me play better ( I hope)

Monday Night Dinner party

Well it was our turn to host this week, so we tidied up and found the posh china

We started the with a quick Rayman Raving Rabbid's 2 game entitled 'burp' in which you have to shake a bottle of pop as fast as you can got 5 seconds, drink and burp - the louder the burp the more of the city you destroy, the boys did better than the girls and Stu got the top score -a new record.

After dinner we played Big Brain Academy, which is alright but I think we need to revise the rules a little when we play.

We then played flux which is rather hard when you had a lot of wine, and Helen has beginners luck at it.

Lessons learnt from the tonight event:

1.Tune Harp before guest arrive
2.Lock cat in Kitchen so he doesn't annoy people -he is cute though :)
3.Don't sit on the piano stall without having good balance (especially when you are teasing your partner)

Next week we are having a cheese and wine night ... all I have to do is pick a cheese :)

Tuesday Challenge 8 results and tuesday challenge 9

Here are the Tuesday Challenge 8 results

Tuesday Challenge 9- Vertigo
In this week’s challenge, your camera must be at least 30 feet (10 metres) above the subject of your photo.
You could try a hill or tall building, a kite, or if you’re good at throwing things very high and catching them again, maybe a Camera Toss (note - I will not be held responsible for broken cameras!)
Good luck!

Wayne on You tube

Wayne finally finished tweaking his Studio

here are his first two covers

America by Paul Simon

And

Three Flights Up by Don McLean

there will be more, but only after he has done his chores :)

Mah

Mah
It is not a word, it is a grunt that shows people you don't care. I Think it is disrespectful as the person saying it can't be bother even to say "I don't know" or " it doesn't concern me"
I my opinion a sound is not a word and should not be in or anywhere near the English language.

Rayman's Raving rabbids 2

I brought a new Wii game yesterday, and spent an enjoyable evening unlocking the games to find the best one for our Monday night dinner party.

I will not reveal my top 3 here as I don't want to spoil it yet but I will let you know on Tuesday.

Wayne spent the evening tweaking stuff in his recording studio, the product of should be on You Tube soon.

I have just tried this website to see weather it go me thinking,

it links back to your blog so you can see my answers to the question of the day.

the verdict is still out at the moment.

what would set this country straight??

Downward Spiral by James Byrum

less negative spin on the News, I know they need to tell us about the economy but they make you think it it so bad that you don't spend money and then you make it worse it is causing a downward spiral.

Also cheesecake :)

Tuesday Challenge 8

GREEN....could be tricky or obvious

last weeks entries can be found here

http://blog.pygmygoat.net/1539/#more-1539

there were some awesome entries, check them out

Monday Curry and Pigeon

Last night we were entertained by Helen and Stu.
We finally got there, after as short delay talking to the neighbours (sorry!) and we had a lovely meal of home made onion bhajis, Turkey balti (or rogan josh, not a good curry identifier) and a cheese (Paneer) and peas curry. All of which were really yummy.

We then played Yahtzee Poker and Pass the bomb (I am rubbish), I invented an ear necklace to much hilarity and embarrassment of me.

We then played with various Rubik cubes before leaving with 3 empty wine bottles ( thank you) so that I could bottle bottle my rhubarb wine.

So a great evening entertainment and off we went to bed, only to be woken up at 12.30 by Guinness making a low growling sound which means he caught some kind of animal we usually lock him in the kitchen when he does that until takes it back outside.

At half past midnight we were chasing the cat round the house as he refused go in the kitchen and would realise the furry thing he was carrying. When he finally let it go we chucked the cat in the kitchen and disposed of the Pigeon ... (poor bird) and we finally went to bed.

We are hoping for a better nights sleep tonight...

One car...

Today Wayne sold is astra.

He did so for many of the usual reason that I won't bore the world with. However after a lot of driving round in circles trying to find the place and some negotiations we are now a one car household, with a lower carbon foot print :)

However if you are going to buy a Second hand car we suggest that you check if it has ever had a tow bar as it will make it harder to sell on.

We now have the joys of working to out who need the car and when...this is going fun :)

Tuesday Challenge 7

Here is my entry for this weeks tuesday challenge:

The lock is out of the frame...

It was a tricky one this week, my initial pics didn't work and then I was stuck for inspiration, I think this one almost fits the criteria.
If not the rest of the car is out of the frame :)
